Muscle trauma

The muscle injuries are among the most common injuries in sports in general. They are found in 30% of all sports injuries.
How many of you have felt a sharp pain in your thigh muscle, perhaps right at the height of a tennis match or in that decisive action of a soccer tournament?

Most will have tried to hold on to finish the game or score that decisive goal, but felt they could no longer push at their maximum.
These are just examples of how a muscle trauma. This can in fact be direct (for a hit received) or indirect (for an incorrect or overloaded movement)

The  Contusions, on the other hand, are very easy to recognize: the athlete is perfectly able to immediately report the moment in which he felt the pain and why.
Depending on how intense the muscle pain is and how it causes functional limitation, the contusion is defined as:
– light when the range of motion is more than half of normal;
– moderate when the range of motion is between half and one-third of the physiological motion;
– severe When  range of motion is less than a third of normal.

Another situation that cannot be traced back to trauma is the muscle contracture.
If the pain is felt by the athlete towards the end of the sporting activity and not at a specific moment of the game and a widespread increase in muscle tone is observed, it is not well localised and is felt throughout the muscle, we are faced with a  muscle contracture.

If, however, muscle contracture is present but the pain is clearly identifiable by palpation and arises progressively during sporting activity, we are faced with a stretching, and if it allows you to still play, even if with difficulty, there probably won't be a macroscopic anatomical lesion.

The  injuries or muscle tears (first, second and third degree) require longer recovery times as there is a real lesion. The severity will determine the recovery times.
If the athlete feels a sudden, sharp pain, with a specific reference to a technical gesture then we are most likely in the presence of an anatomical lesion.

TopMet  How does it intervene?

There percussive therapy It is a complementary method to medical therapies to accompany the rehabilitation of the muscle after the trauma suffered. In fact, it is necessary to perform a massage that stimulates the blood flow to the muscles in order to facilitate rehabilitation.

The main function performed by the massage gun TopMet it is precisely that of stimulate muscle vascularization, or blood flow. This, combined with their relaxing effect on the muscles, makes them the best tool for loosening muscle knots with self-massage and making muscle recovery faster.

Furthermore, thanks to the different heads that are supplied with the massage gun, it is possible to hit the area affected by the contracture very precisely, intensifying the effect. A few minutes of localized massage are enough to obtain great benefits.
